The second Jenae and I met, I knew we were meant to cross paths – there was an instant friendship between her and I. We actually met in person through my little sister and her job – it was serendipitous! We connected on so many things, with Jenae wanting an untraditional wedding, and having a clear and intentional path for every detail for this memorable day. Most importantly, we both have a love for life!

Throughout the planning process we got inspired together over mood-boarding dates, and got to know each other on a personal level. Leaving these get-togethers I felt enlivened and motivated to capture the beaming love story that was Jenae and Brisco.

 

Getting Ready Giddiness

To start off the day, Jenae and her bridesmaids began to get ready in a quaint AirBNB. You could feel the buzz of excitement bursting in the room, and let me tell you… the girls were having so much fun!! The vibe was stress free, everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves. It was one of those moments where everything seemed as it was meant to be. With the sun trickling through the windows – it was absolutely so sunny and gorgeous, and I could feel this was going to be a day for the history books.

Jenae crafted up espresso martinis for all of her girls, making everyone feel special and welcome. One thing I adore about Jenae is her specialty of taking moments that could be a check-list part of the day, and putting her own magic touch on it. Just making me further feel so fortunate to be apart of these moments, and CAPTURING the unbelievable energy that filled the air.

La Playa Carmel

After everyone was done putting on the finishing touches, we then made our way to the BREATHTAKING, La Playa Carmel. A gorgeous venue on the coast of California by Carmel by the Sea.

When we arrived, I noticed something right away – THE DETAILS sprinkled around the venue!! Twinkling string lights strung up above, lush greenery accenting the corners, the absolutely most precious rose petals wrapped in poem book pages from Jenae’s grandmother, and guests covering from the sun with their parasols – making for the most ROMANTIC Italian atmosphere!

Isn’t it so amazing how the tiniest details can make the biggest impact on your wedding day?

As Jenae’s parents walked her down the aisle, they stopped halfway. Allowing this radiant soul to take steps to her soon-to-be husband as the independent woman that she is. Another touch of a non-traditional touch that Jenae chose to personalize this day to THEM.

Their ceremony was so intimate, sweet, and personal. It was as if every word was intentionally placed to bless the beautiful couple that stood before us all. Love and elation filled the room as they shared their first kiss, and guests tossed rose petals into their air in celebration. Words cannot explain how surreal and breathtaking this moment was. Jenae and Brisco took their first steps as a married couple into their forever story. It was an incredible ceremony to be cherished til the end of time.

Partayyy Time

As the sun was setting over the picturesque California coast, the mood was livening!! A time for celebration was here – these two families were now ONE! Jenae changed into a gorgeous mini reception dress (an idea I am SO here for!!) and her Jimmy Choo tennis shoes – CAN YOU SAY ICONIC?

The two families danced the night away, and I can honestly say I think there was a smile on everyone’s face across the room! Jenae and Brisco even took dance classes leading up to the wedding, and surprised everyone with the most adorable choreographed routine. Didn’t I say this was going to be one for the history books?

They ended the night with a sparkler exit, shining like their love for one another. But that wasn’t all, friends – remember how untraditional I told you Jenae aimed to be? She whisked everyone to the coastline and they all celebrated even more with a bonfire and pizza on the beach! Jenae and Brisco ended the night spontaneously jumping into the ocean, and just having the time of their lives. It felt like they were the only two on the beach together! The perfect way to end this day kissed with intentionality and romanticism.

This gorgeous Carmel, California wedding truly holds a place in my heart. I felt so blessed to capture all of the candid and genuine moments and memories that were shared between Jenae, Brisco, and their loved ones. More days like this please!!
